Working with Schools Ltd is a well established independent provider of services to the education sector. We are proud of our independence and proud that we are able to work with schools free from the bureaucratic restraints of a traditional Local Authority. Recent legislation has given schools new freedom to manage a whole range of issues. We believe that schools can make best use of those freedoms by operating in a flexible way and require services that are tailored to each school's individual circumstances.

Senior Staff

Graham Jones (Managing Director) Graham Jones (Managing Director) has extensive experience in education management, personnel, finance and administration having held senior posts with various local authorities and more recently with the commercial sector. Graham is a registered visiting speaker at educational centres of excellence and is regularly invited to speak at local and national conferences of head teachers, business managers, school bursars and governors. Graham has worked with many schools, providing timely and pragmatic advice in respect of employment law, pay, conditions of service, best value and financial management. Graham has a Masters Degree in Management and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Julie Jones (Company Secretary) is a former local authority governor support and training officer, who is one of the founders of the Company and a major shareholder. Julie has responsibility for the production of company contracts and policies, issues related to Board meetings and procedures, purchase and sales ledgers, and corporate responsibilities for Data Protection, Criminal Background Procedures, Health and Safety, Insurance and legal compliance.

David Brett (HR Manager) has worked in education for over thirty years in a variety of roles. As a teacher he has worked in five schools, most recently as Headteacher of both a Middle and Secondary School, for a total of thirteen years. He has also worked as an Education Officer with Personnel and Governor Support responsibilities. David took over two schools in Serious Weaknesses and Special Measures and as part of this work had to manage a wide range of serious Personnel Issues including disciplinary matters, capability, poor staff attendance, restructure and redundancy. David is the Company’s HR Manager and specialist TUPE Advisor.

Phil Jones (Payroll Manager) joined the Company on a part-time basis in 2006 in order to help out with our internal administration and marketing. He became full time in 2007 on the completion of his professional studies and was promoted at the beginning of 2008 to the schools payroll team, where he is now the manager. In addition to his payroll duties, Phil is also a registered counter-signatory for the provision of our Criminal Background Disclosure checks. Phil qualified at AAT (Payroll) in September 2011.
